The second phase of Chef/Restaurateur Michael Beltran and Ariete Hospitality Group’s (AHG) two-part opening at CocoWalk officially began on October 27 with the arrival of Eva, AHG’s new, cutting-edge Mediterranean restaurant.

The big debut follows the arrival of The Oyster Bar which opened in September offering an intimate experience rich with raw bar classics, delicious small plates and carefully curated drinks.

Eva offers the delicious taste of the Mediterranean, first-class cocktails and wines, impeccable service and a friendly upscale atmosphere in Coconut Grove. Eva and The Oyster Bar share a space in the popular CocoWalk complex at 3015 Grand Ave.

“Eva is designed to be an everyday place for any occasion with great food and service and a fun, casual atmosphere. The idea of a Mediterranean-inspired bistro was the basis for this concept, and we went from there,” said Beltran. “Eva is suitable for a dinner party.” As homely as it is for a casual business lunch or a night out with friends.

“There are a few upscale elements and flourishes here and there because we want to make it interesting. Our goal is to have a very friendly, fun restaurant with the level of service and sophistication that diners expect and deserve.”

Through the unique culinary perspective of Chef Beltran and Executive Chef Ashley Moncada, the menu offers an attractive assortment of Mediterranean dishes and raw bar offerings. To start, guests will enjoy delicious fresh breads such as bazlama, a Turkish flatbread made with Greek yogurt served with homemade labneh, urfa (pepper) and candied walnuts, as well as small plates and appetizers including goose and date fritters, date fritters, and roasted foie gras with rose. Pomegranate, and naya kibbeh, lamb prepared with black garlic, ground wheat, onions, shiso and marjoram.

Highlights of main courses and large plates include giovetsi, a Greek stew served here with monkfish, prawns, squid and orzo in tomato sauce; Lamb chop with oregano chimichurri and shaved cabbage salad; Pork schnitzel served with orange tahini, fennel and orange salad and green circle chicken, harissa marinated chicken breast kebab with chicken thigh marinated with onions and charred green peppers.

There are also many delicious desserts not to be missed, including baklava with pistachio “shells”.

At present, Eva only serves dinner, but there are plans to launch a lunch service in the near future.

As with any AHG concept, the bar program has been designed as carefully and skillfully as the menu. For Eva, Adrian Lopez, AHG’s Wine Director, carefully curated a stunning wine program featuring over 40 bottle selections. From sparkling to sweet wines, the wine list includes unique bottles sourced primarily from Greece, as well as international varieties from Lebanon, Israel, Slovenia, Spain, Croatia, Palestine and Italy.

In addition, Eva’s bar program features an excellent selection of signature cocktails such as Mi Jolie – Bourbon, Medjool Dates, Cardamom and Orange Berry; Night Shade – Tequila, Aperol, Paprika, Pineapple, Basil, and Kashmir Lime – Gin, Strega, Honey, Lemon and Egg White; Among other things.

Featuring a soothing sand color palette accented with charming gold accents, Eva is rustic yet modern, a sprawling space with 4,100 square feet of interior space alone including an oyster bar. Design elements include solid wood benches, tables and chairs, woven wicker chair backs, a marble-topped main bar with a worn stone base, solid stone support columns (a little ode to the Parthenon) and an abundance of natural light. Eva seats 139 between the main bar, dining room and outdoor patio, which coincidentally surrounds CocoWalk’s Grecian back fountain.

Eva and The Oyster Bar is located at 3015 Grand Ave. At CocoWalk in the heart of Coconut Grove. Eva is open Sunday-Wednesday, 5-10pm, and Thursday-Saturday, 5-11pm. The Oyster Bar is open Monday-Wednesday, 3pm-10pm; Thursday-Friday, 3-11 p.m.; Saturday, 11:30 AM – 11 PM, and Sunday, 11:30 AM – 10 PM
